3rd Grade Curriculum Choices

Going through what I am doing with my 3rd grader next year.  We are somewhere between Charlotte Mason, Classical, and eclectic styles of homeschooling. And every Tuesday she participates in classes with a local group.  This year we are trying a new ELA program. She's only just begun to be comfortable reading, and most of the ELA curriculums I've tried haven't worked well for her AuDHD brain. Previously we tried The Good and The Beautiful, which helped keep her interest, but it was too religious for our family. Then we tried First Language Lessons, but it wasn't well rounded for our needs and was pretty boring. I needed something more open and go with a new baby.  This year, we are going to be using  English Lessons Through Literature  with the copywork workbook . We are starting with the first year, despite my kiddo probably knowing most of the things covered, because I want her to feel empowered to start as this is a struggle subject for her. We also plan...

What I've Been Up To

I spent the majority of this week doing all sorts of things for the kids. The library started the summer reading. My middle kiddo had swimming lessons. I am planning homeschool lessons for next school year, and enjoying a break from academics.  I'm trying to find  educational toddler toys so that my smallest kiddo has something to keep them occupied while I am working with big siblings.  Pride month is in full force. I am in charge of a quote a day for our local PFLAG chapter. I batch these out, but it's almost the weekend so it's time to do that again later today.  My mind is scattered, and I feel like I am forgetting something. I need to get back to having my planner in easy reach.
